Wesleyan Resources for Faculty

Some of the offices which support faculty at Wesleyan.

Academic Affairs
The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for supporting the work of the faculty, whose teaching, advising, and scholarship brings the academic program to life.

Assistive Technology
A list, and descriptions, of various assistive technology supports available at Wesleyan, provided through Academic Technology and Accessibility Services.

Center for Pedagogical Innovation
The Center for Pedagogical Innovation and Lifelong Learning is dedicated to the inspiration, incubation, and dissemination of pedagogical innovations and the support of lifelong learning.

Faculty Career Development
Through grants, workshops, seminars, publications, and formal and informal discussions, we hope to cultivate dialogue among Wesleyan faculty members and encourage association with faculty members at other academic institutions.

Academic Resources

A range of academic services are offered to assist all Wesleyan students.

Accessibility Services
Accessibility Services works to provide supports beyond accommodations. These supports, which include a focus on the development of metacognitive learning strategies and time management and organizational skills, are available to all Wesleyan students.

Dean's Peer Tutoring Program
Peer tutors are provided free of charge for individual students in need of further course-content instruction. Students can request a tutor at anytime. Faculty can recommend students either to be tutored, or to be a tutor.

Math Workshop
The Math Workshop always has two staff members on duty, who may be either experienced undergraduates, or math graduate students. The staff offer a drop-in tutoring service, available to all members of the Wesleyan community, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, while answering questions about mathematics

STEM Zone 42
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Zone 42, located in the Science Library, is a collaborative project by the Office of Equity and Inclusion, the WesMaSS program and Academic Affairs.

Student Academic Resources
Student Academic Resources (SAR) coordinates programs for intellectual enrichment and academic support.

Writing Workshop
Writing tutors and mentors work individually with students, and assist many students with disabilities. Students can meet with a tutor to discuss ideas for an upcoming assignment, edit a rough draft of a paper, or review a professor's comments on completed work.
