University Lectures

Due: Friday, October 6, 2017 to Sara Wadlow, at swadlow@wesleyan.edu.

The Center invites proposals for University lectures for the coming academic year, 2017-18. (A second CfP will go out in the spring semester.)  These may be single lectures or a lecture series.

Each proposal should:

1) identify the speaker(s) or targeted speakers, and provide cv’s;

2) describe the expected audience, and any classes to which the event will be linked;

3) provide a budget and explanation of expenses;

4) explain how administrative support will be provided; and

5) list expected contributions from other sources.

Proposals for lectures should be submitted as early in the planning process as possible, preferably before arrangements and invitations have been made. Proposals demonstrating funding support from home departments and/or other sources have historically been looked upon more favorably by the Advisory Board. At the same time we encourage proposals that reach across departmental and disciplinary boundaries.

Regular annual and endowed lecture series are less likely to be funded than other proposals.

Please send proposals for University Lectures as email attachments to Sara Wadlow, Administrative Assistant for the Center.  Proposals for the current application round should be submitted by Friday, October 6, 2017.  Our intention is to have funding decisions made by the Allbritton Faculty Advisory Board by late October.

If you have questions or need more information, please contact Peter Rutland, Director of the Allbritton Center for the Study of Public Life, at prutland@wesleyan.edu
